Quarter Steer (Deposit)
NOTICE: PLEASE CALL JIM (318) 347-3333 IF YOU ARE NOT LOCAL TO THE SHREVEPORT, LA AREA AND ARE INTERESTED IN PURCHASING A WHOLE, HALF, OR QUARTER ANIMAL BEFORE PLACING A DEPOSIT SO WE CAN DISCUSS DELIVERY/PICKUP OPTIONS.
All of these steers will be finished on an “All Natural” grain finishing ration. None have had any growth hormones or antibiotics.
We will deliver your steer, along with others, to the processor (Parish Meat Processors, Sibley, LA) at the proper time. They are a USDA Inspected Facility.
The steers will be slaughtered and hung to age for approximately 15 days prior to butchering. You can have yours hang longer but will be responsible for paying an additional fee to the processor.
Parish Meat Processing will provide us with hanging weights for each steer
We will provide you with a Cutting Order Sheet that you will fill out and return to us. You will be able to get guidance on how best to fill out the Cutting Order Sheet from one of us and/or the Manager of Parish Meat Processors, Mr. Jackson McConnico. We will combine everyone’s Cutting Order Sheets, assign specific steers to specific customers and submit them to the processor.
We will use the weights provided by Parish Meat Processors to prepare your invoice and send it to you by email.
You will pay C6 Farms prior to picking up your vacuum sealed frozen boxed beef order from Parish Meat Processors.
Parish Meat Processors will notify us when the orders will be ready and we will in turn notify each of you.
You will pay Parish Meat Processors for your Butcher Fee when you pick up your frozen boxed beef order.
Actual Costs for one of our typical 1302# steers that was butchered in September 2023 is shown below:

Estimated take home boxed beef weight – 123.8#
Payable to C6 (delivery to Parish Meat Processors Incl) - $795.76
Payable to Parish Meat Processors - $295.96
Total cost - $1091.73
Cost per lb of take home weight - $8.81/lb
2024 pricing has yet to be determined but will not go up more than 5%. There will be a 10% upcharge for all orders for “quarters”. If you would have ordered a quarter of the steer shown in the example above, the upcharge would be about $72 ((2893.67/4) * 10%).
For those of you who don’t have freezer room for a whole, half, or quarter….we suggest that you share an order with family & friends. If that doesn’t work well for you and you still want to enjoy our beef, we also offer individually packaged vacuum sealed cuts of beef by the pound processed by Parish Meat Processors.
